BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: February 26, 2019 - Work Session
March 6, 2019 Commission Meeting - Item was brought before the County Commission for approval, it was determined that a new Public Hearing before the Commission would need to be done and public notice re advertised for an additional four weeks.
Background:
The Baldwin County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance was last updated September 7, 2010. Baldwin County has received the new Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) maps, that will become effective on April 19, 2019, makes it necessary to amend and update the current Baldwin County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance which will become effective April 19, 2019.
A notice of the proposed changes was published in all Gulf Coast Media newspapers for a period of 4 weeks. A public hearing was held on February 27, 2019, to hear comments for or against amendments.
A second round of public notice was published in all Gulf Coast Media newspapers has been completed, the public notice ran from March 20, 2019 through April 10, 2019. A public hearing will be held on April 16, 2019 in front of the County Commission to hear comments for or against the proposed amendments.
