Approve the request from the Fort Mims Restoration Association, Inc. to utilize Baldwin Regional Area Transit System (BRATS) for transportation for the annual Fort Mims Re-enactment and Living History Event on August 24, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at a donated cost of $510.40.

Previous Commission action/date:
July 18, 2023 - BCC approved donated transportation service for the 2023 Fort Mims Re-enactment held on August 26, 2023.
June 21, 2022 - BCC approved donated transportation service for the 2022 Fort Mims Re-enactment held on August 27, 2022.
June 1, 2021 - BCC approved donated transportation service for the 2021 Fort Mims Re-enactment held on August 28, 2021.
Background: Claudia Campbell, President of the Fort Mims Restoration Association Inc., submitted a request for transportation service to Ann Simpson, Director of Transportation, for the use of one (1) BRATS bus for the Fort Mims Re-enactment on August 24, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The cost of one bus for this event is $63.80 per hour for 8.0 hours which includes the commute time to and from the BRATS hub, pre-trip, and post-trip inspections. Total cost of transportation services is $510.40. BRATS requests approval from the Baldwin County Commission to donate this service to comply with federal charter regulations.
