BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Title

Body

Recommendation

Background:  The Baldwin County Legislative Delegation requests the County Commission approve an amendment to the Employment Contract for Allison Marlow, Legislative Delegation Clerk.

Applicable Baldwin County local laws authorize the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation to select personnel who serve at the pleasure of the Delegation. The personnel may be considered County employees for the purpose of being eligible for benefits and may contract for employment with either the County Commission or Legislative Delegation.  The compensation and benefits are paid from the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation Office Special Fund.

The purpose of the tri-party employment contract is for the Legislative Delegation to set the compensation, certain benefits and for the evaluation of the employee.  The County Commission administers a personnel system whereby the Legislative Delegation employee is considered a county employee (without merit classified protections), and the Commission maintains the special fund whereby the Legislative Delegation employee is compensated, and benefits costs are derived.
