STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Award the bid for Baldwin County Resurfacing Projects 2024: Group #3/BCR-2024-3 to the lowest responsible bidder, Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC, Bid Amount $705,750.11 for Alternative 2 (All labor only); Construction Time: 45 working days; and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on July 24, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.  Four (4) bids were received.  The lowest bid was received from Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC, in the bid amount of $705,750.11 for Alternate 2 (All labor only) The County will use the annual asphalt bid to supply the mix at an estimated cost of $1,499,774.92 with the estimated total project cost to be $2,205,525.03.  The Baldwin County Assistant County Engineer, Mark Acreman, reviewed the bid responses and has submitted the certified Bid Tabulation and a letter recommending that the bid be awarded to the lowest bidder, Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC, in the amount of $705,750.11 Bid Tabulation attached.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

03/19/2024 meeting: Authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for Fiscal Year 2024 Resurfacing Projects as the design plans and specifications are completed.
