STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Consider the request from Tamika Wright, CEO of The Smarties Agency, LLC, for use of the Lillian Recreation Park to host Your Family First Community Mental Health Awareness Event on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and for continued fellowship activities after the official community event including music, free food, and lawn games until 8:00 pm.

 

The approval is contingent upon the event coordinator providing a certificate of liability insurance that meets county requirements prior to the event taking place.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  A request was received from Tamika Wright, CEO of The Smarties Agency, LLC, for use of the Lillian Recreation Park to host Your Family First Event on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The event is organized and hosted by Ms. Wright in partnership with community supporters and volunteers to promote awareness, encourage open conversations, and connect families with resources and support related to mental health. The official community event would be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by continued fellowship activities including music, food, and lawn games until 8:00 pm. Ms. Wright is requesting to bring pop-up tents, canopies, folding tables, chairs, DJ setup with speakers, coolers, food serving stations, portable generators, and trash receptacles on site (as listed in the attached request).
