Recommendation
Adopt a proclamation which proclaims 2026 as “America 250 Celebration and Historical Heritage Recognition Period” in Baldwin County, Alabama, to formally recognize and support local organizations celebrating America’s 250th birthday, and to encourage continued collaboration in educational and historical initiatives.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Baldwin County Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Baldwin County Genealogical Society play a vital role in preserving and promoting the history and founding principles of the United States of America and Baldwin County and are actively supporting the commemoration of America’s 250th birthday through educational initiatives, community engagement, and public outreach that foster civic pride and historical awareness. These organizations requested, through the Baldwin County America 250 Committee, to be supported in spreading community awareness for their efforts in honoring America’s 250th birthday.
Representatives from the above referenced organizations will be present for comments.
