STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Rescind the action taken by the Baldwin County Commission during its November 19, 2024, Regular meeting (Agenda Item CE5), which awarded the quote to Air Specialty, Inc., for Cleaning the Heating and Air Conditioning Ducts in the Baldwin Central Annex II Building; and
2) Award the quote to the second lowest vendor, Star Services, Inc. of Mobile, in the amount of $39,987.00, and authorize the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance.
The Contract shall be effective and commence immediately upon the same date as its full execution and shall terminate upon the expiration of no more than thirty (30) days after the notice to proceed is issued or upon a written notification received by either party within the required ten (10) day period.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Following the award on November 19, 2024, an email was received from Air Specialty, Inc., stating that they could not provide the services for the amount they previously quoted. Staff recommends the Commission rescind the award to Air Specialty, Inc., and award quote to second lowest vendor, Star Services, Inc. of Mobile, in the amount of $39,987.00. 11/19/2024 meeting: Awarded the lowest quote to Air Specialty, Inc., in the amount of $34,279.00 for cleaning the Heating and Air Conditioning Ducts in the Central Annex II building located in Robertsdale, Alabama, and authorized the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance.
