Recommendation

Adopt a Proclamation proclaiming May 3-9, 2026, as National Correctional Officers Week in Baldwin County, Alabama.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  On May 5, 1984, Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, proclaimed and designated the first week of May each year as National Correctional Officers Week. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Baldwin County Commission recognize the essential services that correctional officers provide every day. The week of May 3-9, 2026, will be a week of honoring correctional officers.

 

Sheriff Lowery and members of the Corrections Center will be present to accept the proclamation.
