STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Cooperative Acceptance Agreement and Addendum with Cintas Corporation for the rental of uniforms and rugs off the OMNIA Partners Public Sector National Purchasing Cooperative effective for thirty-six (36) months from the date of execution.

 

This Agreement supersedes and makes null and void the previous Agreement approved by the Commission on May 7, 2024.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  Staff is submitting to the Commission for approval a Cooperative Acceptance Agreement and Addendum for the rental of uniforms and rugs for County employees and buildings using the OMNIA Partners Public Sector national purchasing cooperative.  The Alabama Department of Public Accounts has stated in a letter to all public entities that based on their review of the competitive bidding process used by OMNIA all Alabama entities may use the OMNIA Partners Public Sector national purchasing cooperative as long as it is first verified whether or not the goods are either not at the time available on the state purchasing program or are available at a price equal to or less than that on the state purchasing program. The Purchasing Director has verified that the uniforms and rugs are not on the current State of Alabama contract. 

 

In order to lock in current prices prior to an anticipated OMNIA increase, this Agreement will be effective prior to the expiration of the current Agreement with Cintas Corporation that expires May 7, 2027.  This Agreement supersedes and makes null and void the Agreement approved by the Commission on May 7, 2024.

Total cost of recommendation:  Approximately $224,000.00 per year.
