BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The ACCA Legislative Committee outlines key priorities aimed at improving county government services and addressing common legislative issues.

 

Nomination Process for the ACCA Legislative Committee

 

Each August, the County Commissions are provided with the opportunity to submit a nominee for service on the ACCA Legislative Committee. The nominees from each county may be submitted only after approval by majority vote of the membership of the Commission.

 

Should a county fail to report a nominee by August 1, the county's nominee will be appointed by ACCA Officers. Such nominees will be selected from one of the following:

 

A past president of the Association who serves on the county commission.

The county-wide elected chair or probate-judge chair of the commission.

The member of the commission who is then-serving as chair.

Another member of the commission who expresses interest in serving.
