Recommendation
Grant the request to waive permit fees in the amount of $2,596.97 for the following building permit for work to be performed at 12251 Breman Road (parcel #05-53-08-28-0-000-007.000) located within the Town of Elberta’s corporate limits and owned by the Town of Elberta:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: It is customary for local governments or municipalities to waive building permit fees for property owned by other local governments or municipalities. Since the property for this permit is owned by the Town of Elberta, the Building Official recommends waiving the fees.
Previous Commission action/date: February 24, 2023
Section 34-14A-12 of the Code of Alabama 1975 applies to application of County Building Law and Codes within corporate limits and police jurisdiction of municipalities and administration and enforcement of their respective building laws and codes by mutual agreement, compact and / or contract between the County and Municipal government.
In the regular Commission meeting on February 24, 2023, with respect to Section 34-14A-12 of the Code of Alabama 1975, the BCC approved the execution of an agreement with the Town of Elberta, authorizing the BCC (Building Inspection Department) to enforce the Building Codes adopted by the BCC and any amendments thereto within the corporate limits of the Town of Elberta, Alabama, with the understanding that all fees collected under this authorization and by the Building Inspection Department shall be retained by the BCC.
