BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: County Road 32 between State Highway 181 and Greeno Road is experiencing rapid growth. In addition, J. Larry Newton School is located within this section of County Road 32. These factors support the recommendation to lower the speed limit from 55 MPH to 45 MPH. This section of County Road 32 is located within the police jurisdiction of the Fairhope Police Department.
The City of Foley recently annexed a section of County Road 65 north and south of Airport Road and lowered the speed limit to 35 MPH. Lowering the speed limit on County Road 65 between Foley City Limits and Underwood Road will match the City’s recent action regarding the speed limit. This section of County Road 65 is within the police jurisdiction of the Foley Police Department.
