BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background:  The Baldwin County Commission is considering approval of an Agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of State Highway 104 and Saint Michael Way.

ALDOT has proposed a partnership to fund and construct the project, with ALDOT covering the majority of the cost and performing the design and installation using in-house crews. Construction is anticipated to occur during the summer school break. The County’s contribution will be $85,000.00 to upgrade the signal poles from wood to galvanized steel which is included in the FY 2026 approved budget.

Approval of this Agreement will allow the project to proceed in coordination with ALDOT.
