STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract with Gresham Smith for the Engineering / Environmental Services for the County Road 13 and Corte Road Intersection Improvement Project in the estimated amount of $204,218.00.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Commission, during its December 17, 2024, Regular meeting, authorized County staff to begin contract negotiations with Gresham Smith so that a final recommendation could be brought to the Commission for approval. Gresham Smith submitted a Contract for Engineering / Environmental Services for County Road 13 and Corte Road Intersection Improvement Project which includes the following 7 Tasks in order to complete the contract scope:

 

1.                     Wetland and Listed Species $1,100.00

2.                     Preliminary Design # 17,775.00

3.                     Topographic and Property / ROW Survey $26,250.00

4.                     Acquired Right of way map $2,059.00

5.                     Geotechnical Investigation and Materials Report $9,450.00

6.                     Roadway Plans $140,388.00

7.                     Utility Coordination $7,196.00

 

The total estimated Contract is $204,218.00.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

12/17/2024 meeting: Authorized staff to begin negotiations with Gresham Smith so that a final recommendation for award could be made to the Baldwin County Commission for the Engineering / Environmental Services for the County Road 13 and Corte Road Intersection Improvement Project.

 

10/15/2024 meeting: Authorized the Purchasing Director to place advertisements for FY 2025 RFQ for Engineering Services for the Highway Projects listed below:
