STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Adopt Resolution #2026-059 amending the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget (Resolution #2025-170 and Resolution #2025-171, adopted September 16, 2025) in order to reallocate various funds.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Director of Transportation respectfully requests the reallocation of $1,178.00 from Capital Outlay - Furniture and Equipment to Capital Outlay - Improvements, and the recognition of ALDOT reimbursement revenue of $4,710.00. This will provide a total of $5,888.00 in Capital Outlay - Improvements to cover the additional costs necessary to complete the fencing at the Fairhope BRATS Hub.
The Archives and History Director respectfully requests the reallocation of $15,000.00 from Salaries and Wages to Contract Services to account for the increased use of temporary labor. This increase is due to the absence and resignation of an employee. Temporary labor will allow the operations of the Archives office and Bicentennial Park to continue smoothly by foregoing an extended period of vacancy that the hiring process creates.
The Finance Director respectfully requests the establishment of a $72,000.00 budget for Investment Fees to be funded with the increase in Interest Income of $72,000.00 received from investment practices, accounting for the projected cost for FY 2026. With the increase in the investments of funds, associated fees have escalated creating a need for a separate budget line item to contain the fees specifically related to investments.
The Budget Director respectfully requests the transfer of funds from Probate Judge Manufactured Homes Trust Fund 781 to the General Fund to fund the purchase of one (1) new 2026 Ford Explorer at a cost of $38,347.00, approved during the BCC Regular Meeting on December 16, 2025. This request is necessary to establish the appropriate funding and expense budget for this purchase.

09/16/2025 - Adoption of FY 2026 Budget.
