STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Establish a speed limit of 25 MPH on Merchant Lane; and
2) Establish a speed limit of 35 MPH on Juniper Street North between the Foley Beach Express and County Road 28; and
3) Lower the speed limit on Robin Road between County Road 24 and Mockingbird Lane from 35 MPH to 25 MPH.
End
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Merchant Lane is a recent dirt road paving project. A speed limit of 25 MPH is appropriate given the results of the traffic study. Merchant Lane is in the jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Juniper Street North is an unposted County maintained road. Given the results of the traffic study, 35 MPH is an appropriate speed limit. Juniper Street North is in the jurisdiction of the Foley Police Department.
Robin Road has 12 driveways over its 0.28 mile length. This density, along with all surrounding and adjoining roads being posted at 25 MPH, makes this change appropriate. Robin Road is in the jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
