Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Change Order No. 1 for the cost to provide a Trane Chiller in lieu of the Carrier Chiller, in the amount of $9,000.00 with JLS International, Inc., for the new 90-ton air-cooled Chiller at the Fairhope Satellite Courthouse.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Facilities Management Department is submitting for Commission approval Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $9,000.00 to change the chiller from a Carrier unit to a Trane unit that was awarded to the lowest bidder, JLS International, Inc., on June 2, 2026. The cost to provide a Trane unit in lieu of the Carrier unit will be an additional $9,000.00. The total cost of this project will be $321,690.00. The Facilities Management Department has the in-house capability to change out sensors as well as the software to bind new sensors for Trane units. They do not have that capability with the Carrier units. The existing unit being removed is a Trane Chiller and could be cannibalized for parts to support a new Trane unit.

06/02/2026 meeting: Awarded Bid #WG26-27 for the Purchase and Installation of One (1) New 90 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller at Baldwin County Satellite Courthouse located in Fairhope, Alabama; to the lowest bidder, JLS International, Inc., per the Award Listing and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.
04/07/2026 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place Competitive Bid #WG26-27 for the Purchase and Installation of One (1) New 90 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller at Baldwin County Satellite Courthouse located in Fairhope, Alabama; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
