Recommendation
Related to a request from the Fort Mims Restoration Association, Inc., adopt Resolution #2025-115 which approves the appropriation of $13,500.00 from the Historic Parks Fund in the Baldwin County Fiscal Year 2025, to the Fort Mims Restoration Association, Inc., for repairs and preservation efforts.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Alabama Lease Tax Act #2019-338 prioritizes the use of funds for repairs and preservation efforts for historical sites like Fort Mims, which align with the general intent of supporting community assets and public infrastructure.
The requested funds will support infrastructure improvements and ongoing maintenance projects at the historic Fort Mims site. These improvements include necessary repairs and preservation efforts to ensure the site’s historical integrity, safety, and continued public access.
This appropriation is consistent with the purpose of the Historic Parks Fund and supports Baldwin County’s efforts to preserve and promote its cultural and historical assets.
Claudia Campbell will be present at the work session to answer any questions that the Commission may have.
