STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1) Approve the donation of a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe (VIN# 1GNLC2EC0FR674051) to the Josephine Volunteer Fire Department; and

 

2) Authorize the Chairman to execute the Fixed Asset Change Form.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, through the Baldwin County Commission, is considering declaring a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe as surplus property and donating it to the Josephine Volunteer Fire Department. The estimated value is $5,500.00.

 

The Josephine Volunteer Fire Department intends to put medical and emergency equipment in the vehicle and utilize it as an emergency response vehicle in the community in an effort to provide quicker response times. If Josephine Volunteer Fire Department no longer needs the vehicle it will be returned to Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office/Baldwin County Commission to be sold/disposed of.
