STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1) Approve the Certified Local Emergency Manager Salary Supplement Subaward Agreement in the amount of $17,000.00 from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency; and

 

2) Authorize the Chairman to execute the Certified Local Emergency Manager Salary Supplement Cooperative Agreement and any related documents.

 

The period of performance for this grant is October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Certified Local Emergency Manager (CLEM) program was designed to create standards and promote professionalism for the Local Emergency Management Directors in the State of Alabama. The CLEM program allows the State (AEMA) to provide salary supplements to local governments with CLEM-certified Emergency Management Directors.

 

Previous Commission action/date:  April 1, 2025 - 1) Approved the Certified Local Emergency Manager Salary Supplement Subaward in the amount of $17,000.00 from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency; and 2) Authorized the Chairman to execute the Certified Local Emergency Manager Salary Supplement Subaward Agreement and any related documents.

 

The period of performance for the grant was October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
