Adopt revised Baldwin County Commission Policy 2.10 - Polling Place Hours / Poll Worker Compensation.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  Staff proposes revisions to County Policy 2.10 to make the policy consistent with Alabama Code Section 17-8-12 related to compensation of election officials.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

February 6, 2024 - Due to the passage of Act No. 2023-517 during the 2023 Legislative Session, the Commission revised Policy 2.10 to increase the minimum compensation for poll workers. 

 

February 4, 2020 - At the request of the Probate Judge, the Commission revised Policy 2.10 to increase the amount of Chief Clerks appointed for elections from ten (10) to twenty (20), in order to serve the public more efficiently during elections.

 

February 7, 2012 - Commission revised Policy 2.10 to allow the Judge of Probate to designate a Precinct Chief Clerk (no more than 10 for each election) to aid the Precinct Inspector at a polling place with a large number of qualified electors.
