STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the promotion of Jena Hawsey from the Custodian position (#4084) grade 303 ($15.58 per hour / $32,406.40 annually) to fill the open Senior Custodian position (#5795) at a grade 305 ($18.50 per hour / $38,480.00 annually), with said salary due to experience; and
2) Approve the promotion of Betty Curry from the Custodian position (#815) grade 303 ($18.69 per hour / $38,875.20 annually) to fill the open Senior Custodian position (#5783) at a grade 305 ($21.00 per hour / $43,680.00 annually), with said salary due to experience; and
3) Approve the promotion of Della Marsh from the Custodian position (#975) grade 303 ($16.62 per hour / $34,569.60 annually) to fill the open Senior Custodian position (#5796) at a grade 305 ($18.50 per hour / $38,480.00 annually), with said salary due to experience; and
4) Approve the promotion of Loretta Williams from the Custodian position (#5404) grade 303 ($16.02 per hour / $33,321.60 annually) to fill the open Senior Custodian position (#5779) at a grade 305 ($18.50 per hour / $38,480.00 annually), with said salary due to experience; and
5) Abolish the Custodian positions (#4084, #815, #5404, and #975); and
6) Approve the updated organizational chart for the Custodial Department.
These actions shall be effective no sooner than February 23, 2026.

Background: During the January 6, 2026, Regular Meeting, the Commission approved the creation of the Senior Custodian positions to create a career path within the Custodial Department. The County Administrator respectfully requests that the above recommendations are approved.
