STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve Change Order #1 for Baldwin County Resurfacing Projects 2025: Group #2/BCR-2025-2 in the amount of $100,687.00 with Ammons & Blackmon Construction, LLC, and authorize the Chairman to execute the Change Order.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Highway Department is submitting for Commission approval Change Order #1 for Baldwin County Resurfacing Projects 2025: Group #2/BCR-2025-2 in the amount of $100,687.00. The change order includes details for planing existing pavement and will increase the contract time by twenty-two (22) working days. The Assistant County Engineer, Mark Acreman, submitted a letter explaining why the Change Order is in excess of the normal 10%. Due to the extraordinary circumstances with the project the change order is necessary to complete this project.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

04/15/2025 meeting: Awarded the bid for Baldwin County Resurfacing Projects 2025: Group #2/BCR-2025-2 to the lowest responsible bidder, Ammons & Blackmon Construction, LLC, in the Bid Amount $556,976.50 for Alternate 2 (All labor only); Construction Time: 45 working days; and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.

 

10/01/2024 meeting: Authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the FY 2025 Resurfacing Projects as design plans and specifications are completed.
