STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the commitment to donate approximately 4.5 acres of County-owned property in Stockton to Prodisee Pantry for constructing a new food distribution facility.
2) Authorize staff to move forward with the preparation of the required documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Commission has received a request from Prodisee Pantry, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, for the County to donate an approximately 4.5 acre parcel of land located on State Highway 225 and Lakeview Drive in Stockton, for Prodisee Pantry to construct a food distribution facility in north Baldwin County.
Prodisee Pantry provides emergency food and disaster relief. Since 2003, over 221,470 family visits made up of 531,202 individuals from Baldwin County have received help from Prodisee Pantry. The organization provides food to Baldwin County families facing hardship stemming from job loss, medical expenses, natural disasters and other crisis.
