STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Reject all bids received for Bid #WG26-09 - purchase of twenty-seven (27) 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe 2WD 4DR Police Pursuit Vehicles or equivalent for the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office; and
2) Approve the Purchasing Director to purchase twenty-seven (27) 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe 2WD 4DR Police Pursuit Vehicles off the State of Alabama Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on November 25, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. Six (6) bids were received. The lowest bid in the amount of $45,325.50 each was from Landers McLarty DCJR for Dodge Durango Police Pursuit Vehicles (PPV), which had several variations to the bid specifications including transmission, tire and wheel sizes. All other bids received were for 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV and were higher than the State of Alabama Contract amount.
McSweeney Chevrolet received additional allocation from the State of Alabama Contract for 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe (PPV) after Bid #WG26-09 went out and submitted a quote in the amount of $49,881.08 each. Staff recommendation is to reject all bids received for the purchase of twenty-seven (27) Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles or equivalent and approve the purchase of vehicles that meet all the specifications off the State of Alabama Contract.
The Commission approved funds for the purchase of these vehicles during the Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
