BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Staff is submitting for Commission approval Change Order #1 in the amount of $5,659.50 for the Renovations of Central Annex Building for Building and Planning and Zoning Departments located in Robertsdale, Alabama. The change order is for additional charges to drop three (3) fire sprinkler system heads in the lobby area, relocate diffusers and return air for offices to have proper air flow, and rework ceiling grid and tiles as needed for HVAC work.
The original construction cost of $107,981.00 will be increased to the new construction cost of $113,640.50 with no increase in construction time.
Previous Commission action/date:
01/06/2026 meeting: Awarded Bid #WG26-03 for the Renovations of Central Annex Building for Building and Planning and Zoning Departments located in Robertsdale, Alabama, to the lowest bidder, RE Johnson General Contractors, LLC, in the bid amount of $107,981.00; Completion time: 90 working days; and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.
11/06/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for renovations of the Central Annex building for the Building and Planning and Zoning Departments located at 22251 Palmer Street, Robertsdale, Alabama 36567; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the BCC to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
