STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
At the request of the Location Manager for Beachcombers LLC, take the following action related to a filming of the feature film “Beachcombers” at the County-owned property, The Launch at CR6 in Gulf Shores, Alabama:
Approve the Facility Event Space Rental Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and Beachcombers LLC, which authorizes the utilization of The Launch at CR6 property. Production will take place on July 1, 2026, from noon until 11:30 p.m. weather dependent.
This approval is contingent upon the Location Manager providing a Certificate of Liability Insurance that meets County requirements prior to use of the property for filming.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: A Certificate of Liability Insurance is forthcoming from Beachcombers LLC.
For the filming of this portion of the feature film, Beachcombers, three cast members along with a small crew of twelve will be filming two short sequences on The Launch at CR6 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Transportation for the production crew will consist of three personal vehicles and one pickup truck used for crew transportation and the delivery of the vintage Coca-Cola machine prop and boat-related equipment.
The first sequence will involve a short scene at the boat launch in which the characters arrive and dock a small motorboat. The second sequence will involve the placement of a vintage Coca-Cola machine near the launch area. The coke machine is a temporary prop that will be brought in and removed by the production team the same day.
No Sheriff’s Deputies or road closures will be needed for filming. All filming equipment will be handheld and portable in nature. The production crew does not anticipate any significant electrical requirements or major power draws. The only item that may require access to a standard electrical outlet is a vintage Coca-Cola machine prop, which may be plugged in during filming. No specialized power services, generators, or substantial electrical infrastructure will be required for these scenes.
Description of the Feature Film:
Beachcombers is a feature film set in the backwaters of coastal Alabama during the 1990s. The story follows a down-on-his-luck drifter who stumbles into an unexpected fortune.
