Recommendation
Extend Bid #WG26-01 for the Provision of Fiber Optic Network-Maintenance and Locates with B&L Cable Construction, LLC, for an additional twelve (12) months at the same prices, terms, and conditions stated in the original bid award on November 18, 2025. The Contract extension will expire on November 18, 2027.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The CIS Director is requesting that the Commission extend the bid for the Provision of Fiber Optic Network-Maintenance and Locates with B&L Cable Construction, LLC, that was awarded on November 18, 2025. The bid specifications contained a stipulation that the bid could be extended for two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods by the Commission at their option, if acceptable by the vendor, and any additional contract or extensions will be at the same prices, terms, and conditions stated in the bid. The vendor, B&L Cable Construction, LLC, has submitted an email agreeing to extend the bid prices for an additional twelve (12) months. The Contract extension will expire on November 18, 2027.
Previous Commission action/date:
11/18/2025 meeting: Awarded Bid #WG26-01 for the Provision of Fiber Optic Network-Maintenance and Locates to B&L Cable Construction, LLC, per the Award Listing and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract. Contract is effective for twelve (12) months and commences immediately upon the same date as full execution, with an option to issue two (2) twelve (12) month contracts.
10/07/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications for the Provision of Fiber Optic Network-Maintenance and Locates and authorize the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the BCC to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
