BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: September 19, 2023
Background: The appointing Board has selected Violetta Smith as the Absentee Election Manager for the 2024 General Election due to the Baldwin County Courthouse undergoing active renovations prior to and during the 2024 General Election. In an effort to keep absentee voters safe and avoid potential issues regarding parking and inconvenience due to said renovations, Brenda Ganey is declining the position of Absentee Election Manager for the 2024 General Election.
Ms. Smith has requested the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation Office to be designated as the Absentee Election Office for the November 5, 2024, General Election. The Commission has a Lease Agreement with Robert A. Wills for the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation Office space; Mr. Wills and the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation have granted permission for the office space to be used for Absentee voting.
County staff has verified the building meets ADA compliance requirements.
