STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve an Intergovernmental Service Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and Historic Blakeley Authority for the Highway Department to assist with cross drain replacement on Battlefield Road in Historic Blakeley State Park. The Historic Blakeley Authority will reimburse the cost of materials for the project not to exceed $125,000.00.

 

This Agreement shall be effective upon full execution by both parties and terminate after twelve (12) months unless terminated by either party upon delivery of a thirty (30) day notice of termination.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background: The Commission approved paving Battlefield Road within Historic Blakeley State Park during the November 5, 2024, Regular meeting. The Historic Blakeley Authority is requesting assistance from Baldwin County to replace a deteriorated, multi-barrel corrugated metal cross drain prior to paving Battlefield Road. The Historic Blakeley Authority has agreed to reimburse the cost of materials for the project up to $125,000.00. Labor and equipment for the project will be donated by the County.

 

Previous Commission action/date:  November 5, 2024 - Approved an Intergovernmental Service Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and Historic Blakeley Authority for the Highway Department to assist with roadway paving in Historic Blakeley State Park with cost of materials not to exceed $300,000.00. (This agreement shall be effective upon full execution by both parties and terminate after twelve (12) months unless terminated by either party upon delivery of a thirty (30) day notice of termination.)
