BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: N/A
Background: All road listed in Item 1 are currently unposted. A speed study was performed on each road and the proposed speed is appropriate relative to the length and geometry of each road. These roads are within the Police Jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
McPhillips Road is located south of Silverhill between Wilson Road and State Highway 104. It is 1.42 miles long. A speed study was conducted showing the Average Daily Traffic is 538 vehicles per day. The proposed speed is appropriate due to the geometry of the road as well as the existence of two roads that intersect McPhillips Road. This road is within the Police Jurisdiction of the Silverhill Police Department.
Live Oak Landing is located south of Stockton and also serves as an entrance to Live Oak Landing. The proposed speed is appropriate due to the volume of vehicles entering Live Oak Landing as well as pedestrian traffic around the RV park located adjacent to Live Oak Landing. Live Oak Road is within the jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
