STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

Recommendation

Authorize the transfer of two (2) vehicles from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office to the Baldwin County Commission to be sold as scrap metal and authorize the Chairman to execute the Fixed Asset Change Forms.  The revenue from the sale of these vehicles will be deposited into the Baldwin County Commission General Fund.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background: The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office currently has two (2) vehicles that were involved in single car accidents and are beyond repair.  Both vehicles only carried Liability Insurance on them.  The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office would like to sell these vehicles as scrap metal and for the revenue from the sale to be deposited into the Baldwin County Commission General Fund.

Finance and Accounting Department will send titles for the vehicles to Lt. Steve Stewart, BCSO, via courier. 

Lt. Stewart will contact Mitch Smith with Smith Scrap and Salvage, Inc. to purchase the vehicles and will forward the paperwork back to Makayla Shiver in Finance/Accounting via courier.
