STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1) Award the quote to G. T. Michelli Co., Inc., in the amount of $29,000.00 for the repairs to the MacBride Landfill Truck Scale and the Bay Minette Transfer Station Scale and authorize the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance; and 

 

2) Authorize the closing of the MacBride Landfill and the Bay Minette Transfer Station on differing Saturdays in July, 2018 for the repairs to be completed.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:  Staff received a quote for repairs to the MacBride Landfill and the Bay Minette Transfer Station Truck Scales that are necessary for scale compliance and certification with the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, Heavy Weights and Measures Division.  The quote was received from G. T. Michelli Co., Inc., in the amount of $29,000.00.  In order for the repairs to be completed the Bay Minette Transfer Station and the MacBride Landfill will need to be closed on differing Saturdays in July to complete the work.  Recommend the Commission award the quote and authorize the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance.
