STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Consider the 140 - Special Events Retail (7 days or less) license application for Bill ES, LLC d/b/a Old 27 Grill (One-time Special Event - Baldwin Humane Society Hound Dog Music Festival on September 29, 2018) located at 19437 County Road 9, Silverhill, Alabama 36576, and approve the issuance of said license by the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board, if the public hearing does not reveal a legitimate reason to deny the application.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

Background:  Staff has verified all sales tax requirements have been satisfied, the applicant has a current county business license, the business meets the Health Department’s requirements and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office does not oppose the issuance of the license.

Hidden Lake Barn and Chapel is a special events venue (weddings, parties, etc.).  A separate business license is not required for the event venue location, since the Old 27 Grill has a transient vendor license included its business license.  The Health Department does not require a separate permit for the event venue location since all food/drinks will be catered to the site by the Old 27 Grill.

The event will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018.  The licensed area will be barricaded to control entrance/exit.  Alcoholic beverages are restricted to beer, wine and liquor in 16-ounce cups.  No alcoholic beverages are allowed to leave the licensed area.  This is a non-renewable license.
