STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the employment of Dylan Bevel to fill the Solid Waste Technician position (PID #855) at a grade G-EL ($12.967 per hour / $26,971.36 annually) to be effective no sooner than October 8, 2018; and
2) Approve the employment of Christopher McBay to fill the Solid Waste Technician position (PID #5248) at a grade G-EL ($12.967 per hour / $26,971.36 annually) to be effective no sooner than October 8, 2018; and
3) Approve the employment of Zachary Grooms to fill the Solid Waste Technician position (PID #3020) at a grade G-EL ($12.967 per hour / $26,971.36 annually) to be effective no sooner than October 8, 2018; and
4) Approve the promotion of Victor Durden from the Solid Waste Technician position (PID #5242) grade G-01 ($13.287 per hour / $27,636.96 annually) to fill the open Solid Waste Driver I position (PID #5421) at a grade H-EL ($14.246 per hour / $29,631.68 annually) to be effective no sooner than October 15, 2018; and
5) Approve the promotion of Vincent Reim from the Solid Waste Technician position (PID #5250) grade G-EL ($12.967 per hour / $26,971.36 annually) to fill the open Solid Waste Driver I position (PID #5420) at a grade H-EL ($14.246 per hour / $29,631.68 annually) to be effective no sooner than October 15, 2018; and
6) Abolish the Solid Waste Technician positions (#5242 and #5420).

Previous Commission action/date: N/A
Background: The Solid Waste Technician positions were vacated in August/Sept 2018, due to the resignation/termination of the previous employees. The Solid Waste Driver I positions were created during the FY18-19 Budget cycle. The Development and Environmental Director respectfully requests that the above recommendations are approved.
