BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

Background:   Mr. and Mrs. Stacey, of American Legion Post 44 in Gulf Shores Alabama, are both retired US Army officers and Past State Commanders of the Alabama American Legion.  Mr. and Mrs. Stacey would like to present a plaque to the Baldwin County Commission expressing their appreciation of the Commission’s support to the American Legion in Baldwin County.

A past example of support is the Commission providing bus transportation to and from the University of Alabama for county high school students to attend Boys’ State program.  Mr. and Mrs. Stacey are also members of the Boys’ State Commission, which oversees the overall program.  In addition to introducing themselves to the Commission and recognizing Commission’s contributions to programs, Mr. and Mrs. Stacey would also like to familiarize the Commission with The American Legion and it’s contributions to veterans and youth of Baldwin County.
