BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background: Commissioner Ball received an email from the Morning Dove Baptist Church on January 11, 2019, regarding a proposal to the County for the development of a community park in Perdido, Alabama. The church would like to donate the acreage for the proposed park and is requesting that the County Commission develop the park.
Reverend Scott Brooks, Pastor of Morning Dove Baptist Church, Reverend Stanley Scott, Pastor of Perdido Baptist Church, who would be donating land for the proposed park, Mr. Lee Newton, who lives in the neighborhood of the proposed park, and Ms. Brenda Nolan, plan to attend the work session.
See attached correspondence from Morning Dove Baptist Church dated September 20, 2016, and February 2, 2017, requesting the Baldwin County Commission to consider developing the proposed park. This item was discussed at the Commission work session on February 12, 2017. No action was taken at that time regarding the request.
