BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date:
04/02/19 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Purchase and Delivery of Pre-cast Concrete Restroom Building at the Bicentennial Park located in Bay Minette, AL; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
05/21/2019 meeting: 1) Authorize the Purchasing Director to re-bid for the Purchase and Delivery of Pre-cast Concrete Restroom Building at the Bicentennial Park located in Bay Minette; and 2) Authorize the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
Background: Bids opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on June 12, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. Two (2) bids were received. Lowest bid received from CXT, Inc., had two (2) exceptions to the bid specifications. They did not include the required bid bond as stated in the bid specifications and they are unable to provide a crane to unload the building from the transport truck. The bid received from Leesburg Concrete Company, Inc., has one (1) exception to the bid specifications. Leesburg Concrete Company, Inc., is an out of state vendor not registered with the Alabama Secretary of State as a foreign corporation to do business in the State per Code Section 10A-1-7.01. Staff recommendation is to award the bid to the lowest bidder, CXT, Inc., with the noted exceptions. Bid Tabulation attached for review.
