Recommendation
Take the following action:
1) Authorize the Chairman to execute the Lease Agreement between the City of Daphne, a municipal corporation of the State of Alabama, as the Lessor and Baldwin County Commission as the Lessee for the Baldwin County Bicentennial Steering Committee to use the Daphne Civic Center on November 11, 2019, for the Alabama 200 Bicentennial Exhibition.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background: The Baldwin County Commission, during its regularly scheduled meeting held on June 4, 2019, took the following actions:
1) Approved the request for the Baldwin County Bicentennial Steering Committee to plan and coordinate culminating events for the Alabama 200 Bicentennial Celebration in Baldwin County and for a “Bicentennial Exhibition” Event to be held at the Daphne Civic Center on November 11, 2019; and
2) Authorized the payment of the venue rental fee for the Daphne Civic Center in the amount of $865.00 for the above event and authorized Finance and Accounting Department to remit a check payable to the City of Daphne.
The City of Daphne requires a lease agreement. This lease is not for profit ventures. Alcohol will not be consumed; therefore a host liquor liability policy will not be required. The Bicentennial Exhibition is one of the culminating events for Baldwin County and an opportunity to feature Bicentennial projects and works of art that have come to fruition from this county-wide Bicentennial celebration.
