Ms. Laurie Kittrell, Executive Director and Ms. Valorey Salter, Administrative Assistant, for the Alabama Free Clinic wish to come before the Commission to give a presentation raising awareness of the Alabama Free Clinic.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background: Alabama Free Clinic is a 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organization that provides healthcare for the working poor of Baldwin County. The majority of their patients have at least one job and suffer from a chronic illness such as diabetes, high blood pressure, COPD, elevated cholesterol, pulmonary disease and related conditions. Through the generosity of the community, they are able to serve patients from all over the county with donated office space in Bay Minette, Robertsdale and Gulf Shores.
Staff is made up of volunteers who donate their time to serve our community’s healthcare needs. Doctors from a variety of specialties, both active and retired Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and medical students drive to clinics after working all day at their own practices to help patients, free of charge, at the Alabama Free Clinic.
