STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Discuss the appropriation of funds in the amount of $2,000.00 to Eye Heart World, Inc. to be used to support the Rose Center in Mobile, Alabama, a drop-in center for young women who are at risk for human trafficking or who are being exploited, said funding to be used for intervention study materials, continuing education resources, trauma-based therapy and case management resources.

Background: Eye Heart World, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the fight against human trafficking. The organization started out as an awareness and fundraising effort and is now providing a full scope of services, including the Rose Center which is a drop-off center based in Mobile, Alabama, for young women who are severely at risk for trafficking or are already being exploited. The Rose Center serves as a bridge between the life of trafficking and the long-term care for the women it serves.
Eye Heart World, Inc. is registered with the Alabama Secretary of State as a foreign non-profit corporation, Entity ID Number 370-214.
If the Commission chooses to appropriate funds, agreement will be forthcoming to the August 20, 2019, BCC Regular Meeting.
