STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

Recommendation

Approve the request from Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department to close County Road 112 for its Annual Christmas Parade, with the route beginning at 33014 County Road 112 (Gateswood Fire Department), traveling to 32815 County Road 112 (Hamilton Baptist Church), and returning to Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department, on December 7, 2019, between 11:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

 

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office will provide the necessary security for the event.

Background:  On October 25, 2019, Administration staff received a request from Ms. Tara Stracener, Assistant Chief for the Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department, requesting approval to close County Road 112 for the Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Christmas Parade.  The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will conclude at 11:45 a.m.  The route will begin at 33014 County Road 112 (Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department), traveling to 32815 County Road 112 (Hamilton Baptist Church) and returning to 33014 County Road 112 (Gateswood Fire Department).
