STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Approve Resolution No. 2020-026 and an agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for the financing of Preliminary Engineering costs associated with the addition of paved shoulders on County Road 99 from Carrier Drive to Spanish Cove Drive. The estimated cost for Preliminary Engineering is $50,000.00 with $40,000.00 (80%) coming from the Florida - Alabama Transportation Planning Organization and Baldwin County funding the remaining $10,000.00 (20%). Funding is subject to availability of Federal Aid Funds at the time of authorization. (Agreement shall be effective on the date of the approval of the Governor of Alabama and may be terminated by either party upon the delivery of a thirty (30) day notice of termination.)

Background:
The Florida - Alabama Transportation Organization has allocated funding for shoulder widening on County Road 99 in the Lillian Community. This agreement and resolution covers the Preliminary Engineering phase of the project. The Construction phase will be allocated in future fiscal year funding.
