Recommendation

Establish speed limits on the following roads:

 

1. Betts Lane from George Younce Road to End of Maintenance - 25 MPH

2. Joe Foley Road from County Road 87 to US Highway 90 - 35 MPH

3. Parker Lane from County Road 13 to End of Maintenance - 25 MPH

4. Poser Road from Brewer Road to Charolais Road - 35 MPH

5. North Juniper Street from County Road 24 to Foley City Limits - 35 MPH

6. Bay Road East from Magnolia Springs Highway to Weeks Road - 35 MPH

7. CC Road from County Road 32 to Gardner Road - 45 MPH

8. Gabriella Lane from County Road 49 to End of Maintenance - 35 MPH

9. Sedlack Road between State Highway 104 and South Boulevard - 45 MPHh

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:  Betts Lane, Joe Foley Road, Poser Road, North Juniper Street, CC Road, and Gabriella Lane are recent dirt road paving projects.  Parker Lane, Sedlack Road and Bay Road East are previously unposted roads.  Engineering studies were performed on each road and the recommended speed is appropriate relative to the length and geometry of each road.  All listed roads except Sedlack Road are within the jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department.  Sedlack Road is within Silverhill’s Police Jurisdiction.

 

All dirt road paving projects were approved during the 2019 Fiscal Year budget.
