STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

1) Thank Dolores Sturma for her twenty-two years of service as a member of the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board upon expiration of her term of office; and

2) Recognize the appointment of Jason Woodruff to the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board by vote of the members of the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board, (two members appointed by the County Commission and two members elected by the classified employees) to fill the place-seat formerly held by Ms. Dolores Sturma, for a pro-rata reduced term, said term of office commencing on January 21, 2020, and expiring at the end of business on December 31, 2022; and

3) Recognize Thurston Bullock as the Chairman of the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board; and

4) Recognize Megan Hart as Secretary of the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:  Under the statutory authority of Section 45-2-120, et. seq., of the Code of Alabama, an election was held to fill the expired term of Personnel Appeals Board Member, Matthew Brown.  This Board is composed of five (5) members: two (2) members are appointed by the Commission, two (2) members are elected by county classified employees, and one (1) is selected by the other four (4) members.  Upon the completion of the voting process, Matthew Brown was re-elected to fill the three (3) year term, with the term ending at close of business on December 31, 2019.  Under the above noted statutory authority, a written certification signed by all employees who assisted in ballot tabulation is required to be sent to the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation.
