Recommendation
Approve the request from Sr. Margaret Harte, Principal of St. Patrick Catholic School, to temporarily close County Road 52 and County Road 55 in Robertsdale to hold the 31st Annual St. Patrick’s School Leprechaun Chase 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Color Run, on Sunday, March 15, 2020, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office will provide security for the event if the Commission approves the route, as per policy.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: On February 5, 2019, the Commission approved the requested route for the 30th Annual St. Patrick School Leprechaun Chase during the regular Baldwin County Commission Meeting.
Background: On January 24, 2020, Commission staff received a request from Sr. Margaret Harte, Principal of St. Patrick Catholic School, to temporarily close County Road 52 and County Road 55 in Robertsdale to hold the St. Patrick’s School 31st Annual Leprechaun Chase 10K, 5K and 2 Mile Fun Color Run, on Sunday, March 15, 2020, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The proposed route, which is certified by U.S.A. Track and Field (AL95018JD), is a one lane closure and will reopen to regular traffic as soon as cleaning is finished. The temporary road closure is for the safety of runners.
Insurance for the Leprechaun Chase covered under St. Patrick Catholic School insurance policy.
