Confirm, ratify and approve the attached ADEM Form 9 (Alabama Recycling Fund Grant Application) executed by the Chairman on February 27, 2020, and make said document part of the record.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date: N/A
Background: This grant will allow for unincorporated Baldwin County and its Municipalities to expand current recycling programs. The Alabama Recycling Fund Grant Application is due by March 1, 2020.
The aforementioned application allows the Baldwin County Solid Waste Department to apply for an Alabama Recycling Fund Grant through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) to purchase the equipment listed below at an approximate cost of $905,000.00.
Phase 1:
Equipment:
• Metering Bin, Drum, and In-feed Conveyor (Controls feed rate for processing of material)
• Initial Manual Sort Line (Removes bulky material and rigid plastic separation)
• OCC Screen/Ballistic Separator (Cardboard Recovery)
Phase 2:
Equipment:
• Glass Breaker and Transfer Conveyor (Reduces and re-sizes glass fraction prior to manual sorting)
• Cross Belt Magnet (Ferrous Metals)
• Mixed Plastics Manual Sort Line with Bins and Conveyor (Plastics 1 and 2, Plastics 3-7, Mixed Paper, Residue)
• Eddy Current Separator (Aluminum)
If Awarded the Grant by ADEM the Baldwin County Commission would need to approve the construction of the building to house the equipment at an approximate cost of $2,000,000.00.
