Recommendation
FOR DISCUSSION ONLY - Discuss the proposed purchase of land from the City of Bay Minette. The purchase agreement would include a lease option for the City of Bay Minette related to a building located on the property.
The draft purchase price is currently $895,000.00. The Law Enforcement Money Market Account would fund $700,000.00 and the Sheriff’s Department would fund $185,000.00 (General Fund).

Background: Part of the plan for the new jail was the purchase of land from the City of Bay Minette. There is a building on the land that the City of Bay Minette would like to lease for a period of time after the sale of the land.

Total cost of recommendation: TBD (draft estimate is 895,000.00)
Budget line item(s) to be used: The Law Enforcement Money Market Account would fund $700,000.00; the General Fund would cover the remaining $185,000.00 via budgeted and available funds in 52100.5500.
