STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Award the bid for the Provision of Bituminous Materials for the Baldwin County Commission for each category of headings to Mobile Asphalt Company, LLC, H.O. Weaver & Sons, Inc. and Advanced Asphalt Products, LLC as per the attached Award Listings.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

09/0/2020 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications for the Provision of Bituminous Materials and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid was advertised.

 

Background:  Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on September 22, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.  Three (3) bids were received.  Award recommendations are based on transportation cost and supply location for “picked-up” materials, and are based on low bid for “delivered” materials.  Bid Tabulations and Award Listings are attached.  2019 Pricing is also attached for Commission review.
