STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Authorize staff to release the Surety Document (Maintenance Bond) from Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland on behalf of Ammons & Blackmon Construction, LLC for The Verandas, Phase 2 in the amount of $251,532.40 which guarantees the workmanship and materials of the roadway and drainage improvements within the public right-of-way as shown on the approved Final Plat and “As-Built” construction plans.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date: November 6, 2018  

 

Background:  The Commission accepted Veranda Boulevard (2,477 LF), Catana Avenue (48 LF), Turin Avenue (165 LF), Naples Avenue (634 LF) and Pillars Street (698 LF) in The Verandas, Phase 2 and authorized said roads to be added to the County Maintenance List.  The Commission also approved the Subdivision Roadway and Drainage Improvements Acceptance Agreement and accepted a surety document from Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland on behalf of Ammons & Blackmon Construction, LLC in the amount of $251,532.40 to guarantee the workmanship and materials of the roadways and drainage improvements with the public rights-of-way as shown on the approved Final Plat and “As-Built” construction plans.

 

The workmanship and materials for the roadways and drainage improvements have been inspected and approved in accordance with the Baldwin County Subdivision Regulations.
